Okay, so this is not a Valentine's book per se. But I added it to the theme so that children can see that what we make with our hands - even a simple construction paper heart for Valentine's Day - will make the world better.

The illustrations in this book are superb and you will want to add this one to your home library!

Family Read Aloud Time
This is not a short read aloud - plan for hours of time re-reading and looking at each illustration.

Learning at Home
Two ideas for teaching this book at home:

1. your child can create a list of all the things her hands do in one day!
2. it's time to cut Valentines!

Classroom Options
What Will These Hands Make is a superb addition to a high school art classroom - it's a perfect example to use with papercut art lessons. (I would not recommend use of an Xacto blade with the youngest kiddos.)
