Book Recap

The Wonder Garden is visually fantastical -- I almost did not include this title simply because the cover gives the impression the book is fantasy.  It is not and I am happy to include it as an excellent reference book for your kiddos!

It textual accurate and a visually inspiring exploration of five habitats:

• Amazon Rainforest
• Chihuahuan Desert
• Great Barrier Reef
• Black Forest
• Himalayan Mountains

There is also a list of online habitat resources at the end of the book.

Learning Options

Family Read Aloud Time
Definitely a book for cuddle or quiet time! Children will want to draw their own animals and habitats as  you read.

Learning At Home
The Wonder Garden is an excellent visual counterpoint to Animalium -- the images in one are spare while the other is incredibly lush.  But both are accurate! Use both books to develop children's seeing and drawing in their nature diaries.

​Classroom Resource
If you teach elementary biodiversity or habitats, then this books is a fine resource to spark children's imagination!
