""One day," said Wilson, "I will paint your house orange and yellow like the sun."
Gigi smiled. "I will like that. But today, you are all the sunshine I need," she said.

"One day," said Wilson. "I will fix Gigi's windows so she can open them wide and feel the breeze."
"That's a find idea," said the ice-cream man. "Fresh air is good for the soul.""

Julia Durango

Durango was the teen coordinator for her local library, wrote a weekly book review column for children and was a contributing founder for the Three Silly Chicks blog. She currently writes picture books and young adult novels.

Learning Options

Family Read Aloud Time
This is both an excellent read-aloud as well as a phenomenal look-aloud. The story, as well as the illustrations, give a powerful voice to the child in the story.

Classroom Resource
This is an exceptional addition to support your STEM classroom library - Wilson dreams big of helping his friend and the pictures illustrate his problem-solving process!

Learning at Home
Learning about engineering, with it's focus on problem-solving practices, supports analytical thinking. The American Society of Civil Engineers' Educator's Guide to accompany the IMAX film Dream Big is excellent and adaptable for use at home.
