Reduce, Reuse, & Recycle
I love this book. It's perfect for helping children to understand climate change and speaks their language - global warming is likened to having a fever which is a way our bodies tell us something is out of whack! The 16 topics covered in the book - rising sea levels, shrinking forests, feeding the world, for example - succinctly explains the problem while also offering examples of what kiddos can do to help.
The tone of the book is both factual and hopeful - a perfect way to introduce climate change to children. It's our kiddos' modern look at Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle! Ideas for Making it Real
Each topic offers both "How You Can Help", as well as "How People Are Helping" filled with excellent suggestions - age & developmentally appropriate - for giving children ways to help bring the earth back into balance. There is also a wonderful resource at the back of the book listing citizen science opportunities and organizations working collectively to protect the earth.
