Olive's Discovery!
Laughing so hard your sides ache and tears are streaming down your face should be a regular occurrence and nothing is quite as amusing as when our little ones mistake the lyrics in a holiday song!
When Olive "discovers" she's a reindeer and not a dog, she knows she must help Santa. I dare you to read this aloud without laughing! Nonna's Recipe for Cultivating Wonder Ideas for Making It Real
Singing along to Rudolph, The Red-Noses Reindeer is a wonderful way to introduce this book to younger children. We often hear something other than the original verse and Olive versus all of is a classic mistake. Play-up the mistake while you are singing and don't worry about being silly - that's the point!
You could also make an Olive tree ornament with salt dough, a dog cookie cutter, some twine or string, and either food coloring or acrylic paint to finish off the project. One salt dough recipe is almost always as good as another, but the directions at Yummy Toddler Food are pretty clear. And This Mess is Ours has a good gluten free version for little hands that are sensitive to gluten. Comments are closed.
