A Good Transition
National Geographic Kids and Scholastic publish informational readers which my Little Guy loves! In the past we've read many of their animal titles together, but I am excited to share this one with LG since he is obsessed with robots.
Some of the information is dated and the book is too dense to cover in one go with 4-year-old Little Guy. Yet the kid-friendly jokes and the eye-catching bubbles defining some of the robot-oriented vocabulary is an excellent way to begin the transition from animated super-hero robots to the equally fascinating real-life robots. And older kiddos will enjoy reading it on their own. Ideas for Making it Real
It is understandable that parents and teachers may choose not to offer this book to children because some of the information is slightly dated! BUT don't let outdated information bother you - use it as a learning tool! Ask the simple question, "What has developed in robotics since 2015?" and check out these two sites:
