Parents' Simplicity Credo: Learning Suggestions
Family Read Aloud Time
Plan to take some time to explore each of the illustrations when reading Inside Cat aloud - especially the final illustration! It's okay to point out and discuss what the cat is seeing through any single window. And remember repetition is a good thing. Learning at Home Inside Cat is a good opening resource for teaching about observation and perception. Follow up with an art lesson; Cindy Ingram's Close Encounters with Art is based on Charlotte Mason Picture Study methods and easily adapted for at-home learning. Classroom Options Inside Cat is an excellent picture book to read to a class before science lessons as a way to open up a conversation about observation and perception. Brendan Wenzel
Wenzel has written and illustrated many children's books perfect for exploring simplicity: The All Saw a Cat, A Stone Sat Still and Hello, Hello to name a few. Wenzel collaborates with many groups to protect and conserve wild places and creatures.
