Summer Nights

Our littles may love stars, but it's often difficult for them to stay awake long enough to see them -- at least on the nights when you want them to be awake!  So, bring the stars to them!
  • Rachel at Coffee, Cake, Kids describes How To Catch a Star water play which is quite a simple, but fascinating activity for smaller children.
  • Using a star shaped template make Star Art with sun-print paper; basic directions can be found at Run Wild My Child.
  • Plan a picnic at dusk and decorate with lots of stars and eat star-shaped food! It's as simple as cutting sandwiches into stars or showing a child the star at a center of a cut apple.
