Summer Art Fun!
Elmer is the perfect book to read before playing dress-up, building patchwork Lego structures or even before making DIY body paint -- for use outside with a sprinkler nearby! And summer art ideas abound: try pasting multi color tissue squares to a jam jar, creating a craft foam Elmer or bake shortbread cookies to decorate with sprinkles and other candies. Summer reading is about making informal but delightful connections between what we read to our children and real-life whenever possible -- the only better connection than elephant shaped cookies would be elephant shaped cookies at the zoo!
