Elephants is an excellent non-fiction read aloud - take time to share the photographs' details with your kiddo. The book is also a good addition to a Morning Basket focus on mammals.

Learning at Home
It is good practice to begin teaching informational writing skills as soon as children begin to write and read. An animal report is a good option -- use a simple Animal Wheel template for young children. Looks for online templates.
