A World of Cookies for Santa

"All around the world, Christmas is a time of giving. While Santa Claus (also called Papai Noel, Father Christmas, Grandfather Frost, and more) packs his sleigh with gifts for children everywhere, they're preparing their own sweet gifts for him. M.E. Furman

Furman originally wrote A World of Cookies for Santa as a project for her son's third grade class using his classmates countries of origin and their families' Christmas cookies. The project grew to become her first children's book.  She has been honored with the 2019 American Bookfest Gold Medal and the 2019 Moonbeam Children's Book Award.

Susan Gal

Gal began her career by creating calendars and posters, followed with work for Disney Animation in Florida. Her list of clients is extensive and she has won numerous accolades including  the Society of Illustrators Original Art Show selection for A World of Cookies for Santa.

Wonder

Food and holidays are inextricably linked -- and making confections or cookies with your family at Christmastime to set out for Santa's visit seems to be a worldwide tradition!  I am fascinated by this phenomena -- each cultural tradition is different, but we share the desire to feed and succor Father Christmas and his animals!

The amazing illustrations show children of different ethnic groups along with their confection and cultural decorations. The endpapers include maps of Santa's journey and illustrations of the cookies coded to the countries on the map.
