Recap & Review

It may appear that it takes only a moment to change the world, but 28 Days tells another story. From the Revolutionary War to the first black American President, the book highlights the power of lifetimes of moments persevering in the face of inequity to bring about change. This book is simply a jumping off point to delve deeper into black culture.

Learning Suggestions

Family Read Aloud Time
28 Days
is an excellent choice for a daily family reading during Black History Month - really, any month with 28 days is a good choice.

Learning at Home
Choose on story to build an entire lesson! For example, Arctic explorer Matthew Henson was the first person to stand at the top of the world in 1909. Geography, history, social justice - even math - can be built into a fascinating mini-unit.
