Tickled Pink!

Welcome Back

The blogging hiatus is over and am tickled pink to be back!

I stopped writing for two reasons:

• First, life became incredibly intense for an extended period of time. Let's just say, "Life was happening real fast."
• And I was beginning to think my voice didn't matter. I felt I wasn't really making a difference in encouraging parents.

 
Ultimately, I needed time to take care of the life-happenings and to reflect on whether or not I believed raising amazing daughters - they came to us amazing, we just got to help them keep their amazingness intact -  could translate into caring, truth-filled words for strangers.

Influence

We are at a time in history where most of what happens in the public arena is not normal.  How do you raise healthy, joyous children in the midst of so much chaos? Influence. Parents, aunties and uncles, and grandparents by birth or by choice are the most significant influences in their children's lives.  

Parents have the greatest ability to influence their child. Your influence is holding the understanding of who your child is, as well as the capacity to guide their development, character, values and behavior.

Now, isn't that a bit daunting!

Advice or Stories

This is where Nonna and The Boss come in - we try to not give advice, nor are we parenting experts. We are just normal parents and grandparents who want to share stories, thoughts, and observations with you.

And, as a former school librarian, I want to also share children's books with you.
As a school librarian - and not with a parent's or grandparent's voice -
I have no problem giving advice about books!
